Ryan Aviation on behalf of our established client are recruiting for a (senior) Manager Safety Compliance: Maintenance and Continuing Airworthiness.

The (senior) Manager Safety Compliance: Maintenance and Continuing Airworthiness is responsible for directing the Safety and Compliance monitoring programmes in support of The Airlines Safety Management System as applicable to Maintenance, Engineering and Continuing Airworthiness including Maintenance Training.

The manager will lead improvements in safety risk management policies and processes, working closely with other departments to develop a high-performance team focused on risk mitigation by exceeding Regulatory standards and implementing Industry best practices.

The position has 9 professional staff reporting to it, including two managers, and is a critical team within the independent Corporate Safety Compliance department.

Functions (specific to the scope of MNT & CAW) include:

Manage airline certification process and approvals applicable to the Maintenance Organisation (including Training) and Aircraft, as well as general airline certifications as assigned,

Manage compliance monitoring audits and preventative safety investigations,

Identify trends and implement improvements, including further development of performance and risk assessments,

Confirm and support implementation of correction and corrective actions,

Required Criteria:

Plus 20 years’ experience as maintenance engineer of which at least 5 years as manager of Quality Assurance, Safety or Regulatory functions and staff,

Commercial airline experience with recent manager experience applying EASA standards,

Safety investigation and compliance auditing experience,

University degree applicable to the responsibilities,

Highly Desirable Criteria:

Experience of functioning within an effective airline SMS,

Human Factors qualifications and programme experience,

Risk management data analysis experience
